Caspian Construction Week kicks off in Baku

Baku, October 15, AZERTAC

The Caspian Construction Week has today started in Baku.

The event began with the reading of President Ilham Aliyev’s welcoming letter to the participants and guests of the Rebuild Karabakh exhibition, held as part of the Caspian Construction Week.

The week will feature the 4th Azerbaijan International Restoration, Reconstruction and Development of Karabakh Exhibition—Rebuild Karabakh, the 29th Azerbaijan International Construction Exhibition—BakuBuild, the 16th International Exhibition for Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning, Water Supply, Sanitary and Swimming Pool—Aquatherm Baku, and in parallel the 12th Caspian International Road Infrastructure and Public Transport Exhibition—Road and Traffic. The Caspian Construction Week brings together these key events under one banner, attracting companies from across the global construction industry.

The exhibitions are supported by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the liberated territories of Karabakh Economic Region, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Aghdam, Fuzuli and Khojavand districts, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Jabrayil, Gubadli and Zangilan districts, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Kalbajar district, the State Urban Planning and Architecture Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Small and medium Business Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (KOBIA), the Union of Architects of Azerbaijan, Agency of Promotion of Exports and Investments of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AZPROMO), Azerbaijan Republic Executive Power of Baku City, the Karabakh Revival Fund, the State Housing Construction Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (MIDA), The Union of Architects of Azerbaijan (UAA), the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ASK), the Azerbaijan Construction Manufacturers Association (ATIA), the Azerbaijan Construction Materials Manufacturers Association (ATMIA), and the Azerbaijan Exhibition Organizers Association (ASTA).

The golden sponsor of the BakuBuild exhibition is the company NB Group (brand Corella). NB Group, specializing in areas such as construction, building materials, interior design, ceramics, and finishing materials, is a traditional participant in the Caspian Construction Week and has been a sponsor of this event for many years. The support and trust of major companies in the exhibition over the years is a testament to the importance of the event and its contribution to the construction sector.

Currently, more than 380 companies from about 22 countries are participating in the exhibitions held as part of the Caspian Construction Week, including Azerbaijan, Austria, Belarus, the United Kingdom, Hungary, Germany, India, Iran, Italy, China, the United Arab Emirates, Poland, Portugal, the Russian Federation, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Finland, France, the Czech Republic, and South Korea. National and regional pavilions will feature Germany, Hungary, Russia, the United Kingdom, Uzbekistan and Türkiye. This year, there is a notable increase in the number of Chinese companies compared to the previous year. Furthermore, more than 20 companies from Uzbekistan are participating in the exhibitions.

The scale of the exhibitions will be significantly expanded to include the new hall at the Baku Expo Center. This year, the exhibitions will feature a broad range of activities, and for the first time, companies specializing in artificial intelligence and high technologies will participate.

In 2024, the Caspian Construction Week coincides with another major event. By decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, 2024 has been declared the “Green World Solidarity Year” in Azerbaijan. This landmark event will be reflected both in the products and services showcased at the Caspian Construction Week and in the exhibition's program of activities.

The Rebuild Karabakh, dedicated to the restoration of Karabakh, is being held for the fourth time this year. Its aim is to inform the global community about the positive changes in Karabakh and to involve organizations and businesses in the region’s recovery process. The primary goal of the exhibition is to increase investment in Karabakh, attract international companies to develop the region, restore infrastructure, and construct civilian facilities. The diverse range of innovative products, services, and solutions on display creates excellent opportunities for securing new contracts and implementing joint projects across various sectors.

The Rebuild Karabakh will be organized into the following sectors: investments, environment, energy, information technology, construction, building materials, agriculture, wholesale trade in chemical products, mining, transportation, security, road construction and infrastructure, and more.

To support the restoration and reconstruction of the liberated territories, each exhibitor at the event donates funds to the Karabakh Revival Fund at the initiative of the organizers. From 2021 to the present, a total of 109,243.16 AZN has been donated.

The BakuBuild brings together representatives from various companies, suppliers, and professionals in the construction industry under one roof. Attendees have the opportunity to explore a range of new technologies that can significantly enhance construction processes. The exhibition provides a platform for establishing new business contacts, discussing potential partnerships, and expanding professional networks.

The exhibition covers sectors such as construction equipment, flooring, sports goods, interior design, lighting, thermal and acoustic insulation systems, ceramics and cladding materials, metal, windows and doors, plumbing, saunas and swimming pools, building materials and products, as well as construction and manufacturing equipment.

The Aquatherm Baku covers sectors such as energy management systems, environmental protection technologies, filters, solar energy, air humidifiers, heaters (calorifiers), drinking water production, irrigation systems, thermal insulation materials, heating systems, air conditioners, pumps, radiators, saunas, refrigerators, swimming pools, fans, and more.

The Road&Traffic is a specialized event focused on road infrastructure in Azerbaijan. It serves as a platform for professionals in road infrastructure, public transportation, traffic safety, and information technologies. The exhibition offers an opportunity to showcase modern solutions in the design and construction of roads, bridges, and tunnels, explore market demands and sales potential for intelligent transportation systems (ITS) products, and meet with public transportation operators in Azerbaijan to exchange expertise in road construction. The exhibition covers sectors such as lubricants for all types of equipment and machinery, public transportation, intelligent transportation systems, traffic management, fuel and distribution equipment, traffic safety, and road infrastructure.

The event’s business program will feature sessions, panel discussions, as well as B2B and B2G meetings, where experts and professionals in the construction industry will share their knowledge and experience. This will provide attendees with the opportunity to gain new insights, explore the latest industry trends, and enhance their professional skills. Additionally, the international status of the exhibitions will offer participants the chance to showcase foreign products in the Azerbaijani market and explore new markets and opportunities.

As part of the events of the Caspian Construction Week, panel discussions will be held on topics such as “Life is back to Aghdam”, “Overview of Restoration, Construction, and Management Services work in 2024” and “The impacts of the COP29 international climate event on the modern construction sector and the development of innovations”, “Innovative eco-building technologies for Green World”, “Horizons of a Green Building in Azerbaijan and the region”, “Finding the right solutions for Green Building”, as well as a seminar on “Cooperation between Türkiye and Azerbaijan in the field of modern construction technologies”.

During the exhibition days at the Baku Expo Center, engaging zones will be set up for visitors. In particular, the "Karabakh - land of carpets" zone, which highlights the history and cultural values of Azerbaijan, will showcase Karabakh carpets featuring intricate national patterns. It should be highlighted that skilled carpet weavers make historical Karabakh carpets live right here. Furthermore, as part of the community integration program for People with Special Needs, an exhibition titled “Karabakh with a special brush” featuring handcrafted pieces by children from the "Umid Var" Charity Society will be presented. During the exhibition, Karabakh Revival Fund will present a photo exhibition titled "Urbicide and Ecocide in Karabakh".

The Caspian Construction Week has become a major international event that facilitates the integration of the latest technologies and innovative solutions in construction and infrastructure, as well as strengthening international business connections. Annually, this event plays a key role in the successful implementation of projects aimed at sustainable economic development in the Caspian region and establishing strategic partnerships.
