Caspian European Club applies to heads of ministries and agencies of Azerbaijan
Baku, May 23 (AZERTAC). Caspian European Club (CEIBC) (over 500 member companies and organisations) is applying to the heads of ministries and agencies of Azerbaijan with the request to support the business-government dialogue initiated by the CEIBC within the framework of the state policy of His Excellency President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Chairman of CEIBC Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and accept the invitation of the Club to take part in meetings with the CEIBC member companies.
“We for the first time apply to our ministers through media with the request to support the initiative of the CEIBC Chairman”, said CEIBC Chief Executive Officer Telman Aliyev. Telman Aliyev said: “The basis of the business-government dialogue in Azerbaijan was laid by Nationwide Leader Heydar Aliyev. The aim of the Club established in 2002 is to continue developing the information policy of Azerbaijan, both inside the country and overseas”.
At first the Club’s activities covered only Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, and several years later also the Caspian, Black Sea and Baltic regions. Today the Club brings together over 500 companies and organisations from 50 countries. Telman Aliyev said: “The matter does not concern only meetings within our Club held in the business forum format. The thing is that out of the 5 leading business associations in the country only the two manage to arrange meetings on the level of ministers on a regular basis. At that, despite the difficulties of organizational nature, CEIBC has never used the administrative resource and applied to the Chairman of the Club with the request to render assistance in arranging meetings of ministers with businessmen”.
“One of the major achievements of the CEIBC, operating at the expense of membership fees and advertisements in Caspian Energy Journal, is independence that has become feasible owing to the conditions created by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in the country”, Telman Aliyev said.
“In the course of work we systematically notify member-companies of the Club about the negotiations we hold with representatives of government agencies which heads we plan to arrange meetings with. It is an indicator of openness and transparency of our work. To our regret, we sometimes hear many illogical, rude and at time sensational pretexts from our officials refusing to attend our business-forums. The list of ministers to whom we apply with official letters is preliminarily discussed with heads of companies. This is the reason why active discussion of problems and proposals practically on all economic sectors is held behind the closed doors.
It is CEIBC Chairman’s initiative that an official guest replies, in all open and closed events, to questions of Media representatives who also have an opportunity to be present at the event for the first 15 minutes.
Therefore, consenting to meet with heads of local and foreign companies, dear Ministers, you will become followers of good tradition of development of information policy of Azerbaijan, laid by Nationwide Leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev. We hope this appeal will be heard by you and we will manage to activate business-to-government dialogue, draw via CEIBC additional investments into the economy of Azerbaijan and countries of the region as a whole,” Telman Aliyev said.
