Chairman of Azerbaijan`s Constitutional Court visits Strasbourg

Baku, February 3 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s delegation led by Chairman of Constitutional Court Farhad Abdullayev paid a visit to Strasbourg from 29 January to February 1 on the invitation of Dean Spielmann, President of the European Court of Human Rights.

As part of the trip, the delegation took part in the roundtable titled “Execution of judgments of the European Court of Human Rights. Tasks of Courts”, which was joined by chairmen of constitutional courts from the Council of Europe member nations.

The event saw discussions on a number of issues, including cooperation between national courts and the European Court, decisions of the European Court, and legal aspects covered by the 16th Protocol of the European Convention on Human Rights.

On the sidelines of the roundtable, the chairman of Azerbaijan`s Constitutional Court met his colleagues from European countries to explore ways of promoting cooperation.
