CHAIRMAN OF COE COMMITTEE OF MINISTERS MEETS AZERBAIJANI MM SPEAKER
Ogtay Asadov provided information about ongoing democratic, legal reforms in Azerbaijan. MM speaker said Azerbaijan had become a leader in the region. He noted Azerbaijan was an initiator and participants of large-scale regional projects. According to him, realization of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzerum oil and gas pipeline projects enhanced Azerbaijan`s role in the energy security issues.
Asadov updated Slovak Foreign Minister on the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan`s stance on the problem.
Kubis said the aim of his visit is to exchange views on expansion of bilateral Azerbaijan-Slovakia and Azerbaijan-CoE ties and learn more about the ongoing reforms here. He said Slovakia is keen on deepen bilateral ties with Azerbaijan.
Kubis pointed out Slovakia supports settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict based on international law and territorial integrity of states.
