Chinese “Xinhua” continues to highlight Azerbaijani presidential elections
Beijing, October 12 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s presidential election held on October 9 has been in spotlight of the National Information Agency of China “Xinhua”.
This time “Xinhua” posted the article titled “Azerbaijan`s Aliyev wins presidential election.”
The post writes: The presidential election in Azerbaijan is the triumph of democracy, President Ilham Aliyev said in his video address to the nation.
"The conduct of this election in a free, transparent manner is another serious step toward democracy," the President noted.
The Chinese news agency writes that President Aliyev thanked the people of Azerbaijan for putting their confidence in him. "I assure the people of Azerbaijan that I will further serve the people with dignity, and protect the interests of the Azerbaijani state," he said.
Another article posted in “Xinhua” focused on the interviews of head of Department of political analysis and information provision at the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Elnur Aslanov, and Deputy Chairman - Executive Secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), MP Ali Ahmadov, as well as Azerbaijan`s Ambassador to U.S. Elin Suleymanov.
The Article writes: In an interview with Xinhua on Thursday, Elnur Aslanov, chief of the Political Analysis and Information Department of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration, underlined President Aliyev`s win as Azeri people`s "worthy choice".
"The Azerbaijani people made a worthy choice and elected the candidate who will ensure successful future of Azerbaijan and meet their expectations," “Xinhua” quoted.
The article also says: Ali Ahmadov, head of President Aliyev`s election campaign headquarters, told Xinhua that "election was held in Azerbaijan in an atmosphere of heightened political activity."
"Results of the voting clearly showed that the majority of people are for the continuation of Ilham Aliyev`s political course, which envisages rapid development and stability," Ahmadov said.
Elin Suleymanov, Azerbaijan`s Ambassador to the United States, said: "High voter turnout among such a diverse electorate suggests great optimism about the country`s progress and confidence about its future."
The article highlights that he believed that President Aliyev`s winning demonstrated "Our citizens once again overwhelmingly endorsed President Aliyev`s successful strategy of building strong, independent and prosperous Azerbaijan."
