CIS deputy foreign ministers to discuss situation in Ukraine
Minsk, March 12 (AZERTAC). The CIS plenipotentiary representatives supported the proposal to hold a meeting of the deputy foreign ministers of the CIS member states to discuss the situation in Ukraine, the press service of the CIS Executive Committee said.
During an extraordinary meeting, the CIS plenipotentiary representatives voiced the positions of their states on the initiative of Ukraine to hold an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
Following a lengthy discussion, the CIS plenipotentiary representatives agreed: “In the absence of the consent of the majority of the CIS member states for convening a Ukraine- initiated extraordinary session of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers in Kyiv on 12 March 2014, we supported the proposal to hold a meeting of deputy foreign ministers to discuss the situation in Ukraine in Minsk on 14 March.”
This decision was signed by Ivan Bunechko, Ukraine’s plenipotentiary representative to the coordinating institutions of the Commonwealth of Independent States, who chaired the meeting of the CIS plenipotentiary representatives.
