COMCEC representatives of OIC visit Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Finance

The Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan hosted a meeting with representatives of the Coordination Office of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The meeting, which was also attended by representatives from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and the Central Bank, focused on discussions around a research project presented by COMCEC. The project aims to promote sustainable and environmentally friendly Islamic financial instruments to help combat the adverse effects of climate change and natural disasters in OIC member states.
The sides also exchanged views on current policies, practices, and future opportunities related to the topic.
It was noted that COMCEC is reviewing the experiences of Indonesia, Nigeria, Qatar, and the United Kingdom, as well as Azerbaijan, in connection with this initiative.
