CONSUL GENERAL DISCUSS PROBLEMS OF AZERBAIJANIS LIVING IN ARKHANGELSK
During the visit, the consul general met with acting head of the Administration of Arkhangelsk oblast Vladimir Voykov, Russian President’s Federal Inspector in Arkhangelsk Alexey Yermakov, chairman of Arkhangelsk’s parliament Vitaliy Fortigin.
It was noted at the meeting that there are enormous potential for developing bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Arkhangelsk. The sides can use this potential by increasing the volume of investments, holding business forums, establishing joint companies. The sides agreed to organize a series of events under the motto “Days of Azerbaijan” in the Arkhangelsk’s philarmonia.
During the meeting with heads of law-enforcement bodies of Arkhangelsk, consul general touched upon the problems that Azerbaijanis face in the region. There are some 8 thousand Azerbaijanis living in Arkhangelsk. Most of them observe the rules. However, there are some who live illegally. G. Osmanov found a need to solve these problems together.
During the meeting at the Arkhangelsk city administration, G. Osmanov discussed how to organize concerts of Azerbaijani men of art, where to open the branch of the International Bank of Azerbaijan and other issues.
Consul general met with representatives of the Azerbaijani society. As a result, the council of 19 active persons was created.
