Deadly building collapse in Fez leaves 19 dead, 16 injured

The city of Fez, along with residents across Morocco, witnessed a tragic event last night. According to preliminary reports, 19 people lost their lives and 16 others sustained injuries of varying severity following the collapse of two four-story residential buildings housing eight families in the Al-Moustakbal neighborhood, Msira urban district, in Fez.
The AZERTAC correspondent, citing local authorities from the Fez prefecture, reported that upon being informed of the incident, local and security authorities, together with civil protection services, immediately went to the scene to conduct search and rescue operations. Measures were taken to secure the area around the collapsed buildings, and residents of nearby houses were evacuated as a precaution against potential further risks.
The injured were transported to the Fez University Hospital Center for examination and treatment. Search operations to rescue or assist any other possible individuals trapped under the debris are ongoing.
