Baku, April 3, AZERTAC
An Azerbaijani delegation led by Javid Bayramov, Auditor of the Chamber of Accounts, participated in the 2nd Annual Meeting of the ASOSAI Working Group on the Audit of State-Owned Enterprises (WGSOEA) held in Nanjing, China.
The Chamber of Accounts told AZERTAC that the meeting brought together 34 representatives from the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) of 12 countries. In addition to Malaysia (acting as the Secretariat) and China (as the host), participants included representatives from Türkiye, Indonesia, India, and Georgia.
The main theme of the event was the exchange of views on and the refinement of the draft ASOSAI Guidelines on the Audit of State-Owned Enterprises, as well as the discussion of the draft Work Plan for 2025–2029.
During discussions held both generally and within four sub-working groups, the Azerbaijani delegation put forward specific proposals and recommendations regarding additions and amendments to individual provisions of the document. It was agreed that these proposals would be reviewed by the Working Group Secretariat, discussions would continue, and the final document is set for approval in 2027.
Furthermore, the meeting defined the main directions and implementation schedule of the WGSOEA Work Plan for 2025–2029. Enhancing the draft Guidelines to increase their practical relevance for the SAIs of member countries was emphasized as a key priority.
The meeting agenda also featured the inclusion of the Supreme Audit Institutions of Uzbekistan and Bahrain as new members of the Working Group.
