Deputy Premier of Azerbaijan meets former President of Seychelles
Baku, March 15 (AZERTAC). Deputy Premier, Deputy Chairman-Executive Secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party Ali Ahmadov has met ex-President of the Seychelles James Mancham.
The Deputy Prime Minister briefed Mancham on Azerbaijan`s achievements. He let him know that President Ilham Aliyev-led reforms in the country brought good results and made Azerbaijan a regional leader. According to Ahmadov, effective management of oil revenues made an important contribution to the socio-economic development in Azerbaijan, adding the country is dynamically developing although many countries are severely hit by the economic crisis.
Mancham noted that the Seychells had not information about the republics of the Soviet Union. According to him, Azerbaijan proved its worth in the international arena after regaining its independence. He said Azerbaijan`s choosing the path of democracy will help the country to strengthen even more.
The parties exchange their views on the prospects for cooperation between the two nations.
A briefing was held for the media. The ex-President answered the questions concerning the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
Richard Mancham was an observer at the October 9, 2013 presidential elections in Azerbaijan.
