Deputy Speaker of Azerbaijani Parliament meets Nicaraguan FM
Baku, July 9 (AZERTAC). Deputy Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Ziyafat Asgarov has today met Nicaraguan Minister of Foreign Affairs Samuel Santos Lopez.
Asgarov said FM Santos Lopez`s visit to Azerbaijan was the first high-level trip from Nicaragua to the country, and noted that this visit would contribute to expanding bilateral ties between the two countries.
He stressed the importance of the development of Azerbaijan-Nicaragua relations and the establishment of interparliamentary friendship group.
The Deputy Speaker briefed the Nicaraguan FM on Azerbaijan’s recent achievements on all fronts, as well as the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Nicaraguan Foreign Minister Samuel Santos Lopez expressed satisfaction with his first official visit to Azerbaijan, and said ongoing rapid development processes in Azerbaijan made deep impression on him.
He also stressed the necessity of the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Nicaragua in political and economic fields.
They also discussed prospects for the expansion of the bilateral ties and other issues of mutual interest.
