Dutch ambassador visits Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic
Nakhchivan, November 27 (AZERTAC). As part of a two-day trip to Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Azerbaijan Robert Jan Gabrielse has visited the republic`s education, culture and production facilities.
The diplomat viewed scientific-research laboratory, botanical garden, as well as museums of geology, mineralogy, physical geography, botany and zoology in the faculty of nature studies and agriculture at the Nakhchivan State University. The ambassador also met students of faculties of international relations and foreign languages and answered their questions.
Robert Jan Gabrielse also visited several production facilities in Nakhchivan city. The diplomat was informed about productive capacity, market and export opportunities of the Nakhchivan car manufacturing plant.
During his visit to Gemiqaya Mineral Sular LLC, the ambassador was briefed on the Badamli mineral water deposit, which is situated at 1274 m over the sea level, at 3 km distance from the village of Badamli, in the South-West, in the territory of Shahbuz region. The Badamli mineral water deposit consists of a group of springs. The chemical composition of the water is carbonic aerated, hydrocarbonic-chloride with natrium-calcium. After privatization in 2004 Gemiqaya Mineral Sular LLC renewed base of the enterprise and organized manufacture of water in plastic bottles by 0.5 and 1.5 litres and glass bottles by 0.2 and 0.6 litres. The factory produces 28,000 water bottles daily. The company exports a number of products abroad.
Later, the ambassador visited the tomb of Prophet Noah, as well as became familiar with Nakhchivangala monument and underground water-supplies in this area.
The diplomat also visited Gamigaya Furniture factory, where the ambassador was told that the factory, which manufactures high quality products, had been equipped with modern technological facilities brought from Germany, Italy and Turkey.
