EU-AZERBAIJAN: JOINT ACTION PLAN - IMPORTANT STEP IN CO-OP
The Human Rights Institute (HRI) of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) in associate with the Union of Young Diplomats (UYD), the Eurasian Association of Jurists (EAJ) and the Union of Young Lawyers (UYL) held a “round-table” on the topic “EU-Azerbaijan plan of action and prospects of its realization”.
Development of the cooperation of Azerbaijan and the European Union, integration to Europe is one of the issues of day now, director of the HR Institute said. Quick development of the economy of Azerbaijan last years turned it to a leading state in region. Realization of the Plan of Action is an important step in development of cooperation links between the European Union and Azerbaijan. The Plan is a political document and covers strategic directions of mutual cooperation. Its implementation will promote the terms of Agreement on partnership and cooperation in Europe, and enhance integration of Azerbaijan to European structures, play significant role in bringing closer the legislature, norms and standards in the country to European level.
Noting that Azerbaijan attaches special importance to cooperation with EU, representative of President Administration Vugar Salimov said that realization of the new Plan would raise the EU-Azerbaijan cooperation to higher level.
