European Islamophobia report presented in Baku

The annual European Islamophobia Report, which sheds light on the state of Islamophobia across Europe with concrete data and facts, was presented at the international conference “Islamophobia in Focus: Unveiling Bias, Shattering Stigmas” held in Baku.
The report was introduced by Professor Enes Bayraklı, Head of the Department of International Relations and Political Science at the Turkish-German University.
Bayraklı noted that the report reflects the contributions of 33 distinguished academic experts and civil society activists from various European countries. First published in 2015, the European Islamophobia Report has become an essential resource for understanding how Islamophobia affects political systems, media, employment, education, and justice across the continent.
“The report begins with a summary in both the local language and English,” said Bayraklı. “Each country profile presents an overview of key statistics related to Islamophobia, followed by a summary of major political developments and notable incidents from that year. It then explores manifestations of Islamophobia in politics, the legal system, employment, education, media, sports, physical activity, schools, and digital platforms.”
Each country chapter also includes a dedicated section identifying key figures active in Islamophobic networks. The report further emphasizes the importance of civil society institutions and highlights positive initiatives that combat prejudice, concluding with detailed policy recommendations.
