FIFA rejects Luis Suarez appeal
Baku, July 11 (AZERTAC). The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) on Thursday rejected the appeal by striker Luis Suarez and the Uruguayan Football Association (AUF), so the penalty will continue to honor nine times and four months without activity imposed on 25 June by the Italian Giorgio Chiellini bite.
Through a statement, the sports body announced that “the Appeals Committee decided to reject the FIFA appeals by the Uruguayan player Luis Suarez and the Uruguayan Football Association.”
However, he clarified that “the relevant decision is not yet final and binding” for a further appeal is still possible before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) but noted that “subject to certain conditions.”
Suarez, the Uruguayan selected figure, was suspended for nine games and four months disqualification after biting Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini during the group stage match between selected on 24 June at the World Cup Brazil 2014.
The four-month ban does not prevent the Uruguayan Liverpool striker is pierced, it would not be an obstacle to close his signing for FC Barcelona. However, if it comes to fruition, coach Luis Enrique could be without star signing for the first two months of competition.
