France strongly condemns Iran’s drone attack on Nakhchivan International Airport

The government of France has strongly condemned Iran’s drone attack on Nakhchivan International Airport, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
According to the statement, on the morning of 5 March 2026, Nakhchivan International Airport, located in the city of Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan, was targeted by Iranian drones. The incident resulted in injuries to four people.
Official Paris expressed its strongest condemnation of the attack and wished a speedy recovery to those injured. France also expressed full solidarity with Azerbaijan. The statement emphasized that the drone strike constitutes a clear violation of Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and international law.
The French side described the attack as an unjustified and unacceptable act and reiterated the importance of maintaining stability in the region and respecting international law.
