FRANKFURTER ALLGEMEINE ZEITUNG: “SOUTHERN CAUCASUS TO BE EU’S CLOSE NEIGHBOR”
The most popular newspaper of Germany Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung published an article connected with the visit of Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs Frank-Walter Steinmeier to Azerbaijan, Germany and Armenia.
The article says that in his meetings with officials, the Federal Minister invited the three countries of the Southern Caucasus to peace by putting an end to the local conflicts.
“Germany supports a fair solution to the conflicts in the Caucasus within the frameworks of inviolability of frontiers and this support is of great importance in EU New Neighborhood Policy”, he stressed.
He said that a peaceful settlement of Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh, Georgia-Abkhazia conflicts is very significant for the successful realization of the New Neighborhood Policy.
The newspaper then writes: “According to Mr. Steinmeier’s words, EU having 27 member-countries, where 500 million people live, attaches great value to the expansion of cooperation with the countries of the Southern Caucasus.”
