It is my honor to congratulate you as President of Azerbaijan. The result of the election is a testament to your vision for your nation, your strong leadership, and the strength of your people. I have followed your country`s accomplishments, including the tripling of Azerbaijan`s gross domestic product and transformation of Baku into an impressive modern city.
Under your leadership, energy and security ties with the West have expanded, making Azerbaijan an indispensable regional partner for the United States and the European Union. Recently it was my privilege to visit Azerbaijan and experience not only the highest level of welcome and hospitality but the pride and momentum of a people excited about the direction of their beloved country, still young as an independent nation.
