GERMAN RWE IS WAITING FOR BOTAS` DECISION TO JOIN NABUCCO
The German RWE company is waiting for decision of Nabucco Consortium Turkish partner Botas company to become the sixth participant in the $6.7 billion worth Nabucco project.
The pipeline will transport natural gas from Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Egypt and Iran via Turkey to Austria passing Balkans.
It will reduce European countries` energy dependence from Russia.
Ioan Rusu, Head of the Romanian “Transgaz” company, which is a member of the consortium, told Reuters news agency the German company had fulfilled all requirements and the issue was agreed with all consortium members, except Turkey.
Turkey will announce its decision at a meeting of Nabucco consortium in Vienna next week.
