HEAD OF AZERBAIJAN’S DELEGATION IN PACE HAS MEETINGS IN ITALY
Samad Seyidov, Chairman of the Standing Commission of Milli Majlis (Parliament of Azerbaijan) on International and Interparliamentary Relations, head of Azerbaijan delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) is visiting Italy, Embassy of Azerbaijan to Italy said.
The major aim of the visit is to enhance cooperation between the Parliaments of Azerbaijan and Italy, as well as establish relations between AUL and the Universities for Foreigners in Siena and Perugia.
Samad Seyidov met with the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Chamber of Deputies, Mr Umberto Ranieri, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Emigration Commission in the Senate Dini Lamberto, Senators Giulio Andreotti and Enrico Pianetto, as well as head of Italy delegation to PACE Andrea Rigoni.
The sides shared views on the democratic reforms being implemented in Azerbaijan, rapid economic growth, integration into the European and Euroatlantic structures, prospects of development of Azerbaijan-Italy relations, talks on the resolution of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, role of Azerbaijan in the dialogue among civilizations and religions.
Exchange of students and teachers, Italian language teaching in the Azerbaijan University of Languages were in the focus of meeting between AUL rector Samad Seyidov and the heads of the Universities for Foreigners in Siena and Perugi. The sides signed the “ Agreement between the Azerbaijan University of Languages and University for Foreigners in Siena”, and “Agreement on Cooperation in Science and Culture between the Azerbaijan University of Languages and University for Foreigners in Perugi”.
