“HEYDAR ALIYEV AND NATIONAL MORAL VALUES” BOOK LAUNCHED
The ceremony brought together state and government officials, parliamentarians, representatives of the diplomatic corps and religious confessions.
Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims` Board Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade opened the event, stressing the nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev`s contribution to establishing freedom of religion, preserving national and moral values and strengthening religious tolerance in the country.
Pashazade also praised Adel Al-Falah`s supporting Azerbaijan`s independence and his role in Kuwait`s rendering humanitarian aid to Azerbaijan.
Ramiz Mehdiyev, Head of the Azerbaijani President`s Administration, extended best regards and greetings from President Ilham Aliyev to the ceremony participants.
He said Azerbaijan has always been a multinational and multiconfessional country which has never faced religious discrimination or confrontation.
Hidayat Orujov, Chairman of State Committee for the Work with Religious Associations, said the book sharply differs from others devoted to Heydar Aliyev as Dr. Adel Al-Falah personally knew the Azeri nationwide leader.
Other speakers including father Alexander, Head of Baku and All-Caspian Orthodox Eparchy; Semyon Ikhilov, head of the Religious Community of Mountain Jews of Azerbaijan; Claudio Gugerotti, Vatican apostolic nuncio to Azerbaijan; Ismail Berdiyev, Head of the Muslim Coordination Centre in the Northern Caucasus; Mirfattah Heydarov, an Azerbaijani member of parliament; and academicians at the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Vasim Mammadaliyev and Fuad Gasimzade shared their memories of Heydar Aliyev.
The book`s author Adel Al-Falah said prominent political figure Heydar Aliyev was held in respect not only in Azerbaijan, but also in the whole world.
