Houston Mayor receives Azerbaijani delegation
Baku, November 11 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani Ambassador to the United States Elin Suleymanov and SOCAR representatives have met Houston Mayor Annise D. Parker.
The Ambassador congratulated the Mayor of Houston on her re-election. Suleymanov praised her attention to the Azerbaijani-American relations.
He noted that Houston, home to a growing Azerbaijani community, is considered the capital of Azerbaijani culture in the U.S.
SOCAR Vice President Khaliq Mammadov praised Annise D. Parker`s assistance in developing relations between Baku and Houston, sister cities since 1976.
The Houston Mayor hailed the Azerbaijan delegation`s interest in the city, and thanked president of the Houston-Baku Sister City Association Irada Akhundova for her role in the development of bilateral relations.
