How many Kazakhstanis will be involved in NPP construction

Minister of Energy Almasadam Satkaliyev reported today at the Government’s weekly meeting, how many Kazakhstanis would be involved in the nuclear power plant construction in Kazakhstan, Kazinform News Agency reports.
In his words, some 5,000 people will have been employed by 2030 under the NPP construction project.
In 2032, this number will increase to around 10,000, he said.
“At least, 2,000 people will be employed at the operational stage,” the minister emphasized.
According to Satkaliyev, domestic colleges will launch new programs to train personnel for the NPP.
On October 6, Kazakhstan held a nationwide a referendum on a nuclear power plant construction. 71.12% of voters (5,561,937 people) voted for the NPP construction, while 26.13% (2,045,271 people) voted against. The voter's turnout reached 63.66% or 7,820,204 people.
Minister of Energy Almasadam Satkaliyev said that the participants of the Consortium for the Nuclear Power Plant Construction in Kazakhstan would be determined in the first half of 2025.
