HUMAN RIGHTS DAY MARKED IN BAKU

A special event was held today at the Women and Children Center in the capital, Baku, to mark the Human Rights Day, press service of the Azerbaijan Ombudsman Office said.

The event was organized by the Azerbaijan Ombudsman Office and United Nations Department of Public Information.

The country's Commissioner for Human Rights, Mrs. Elmira Suleymanova, spoke of the work done to protect human rights and freedoms in the country.

She also spoke of the activity of the Women and Children Center, saying it is closely cooperating with the United Nations.

Representative of the United Nations Department of Public Information in the UN Azerbaijan Office, Envera Selimovic, highly appreciated the work done towards reducing poverty in Azerbaijan.
