ICYFDC ORGANIZES INT’L CONFERENCE FOR OIC YOUTH ORGANIZATIONS
Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov, ICYFDC Secretary General Elshad Isgandarov, UNDP chief adviser Shahid Huseyn and others told of significance of the conference. The ICYFDC was created in Baku, 2004 with the support of Azerbaijan government. The opening ceremony of the forum’s permanent representation, which brought together the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, as well as numerous OIC member states top-ranking officials and international organizations’ representatives was held in Istanbul, September 3, 2006.
The main objectives of the program are to encourage leadership skills of youth leaders representing the OIC Member States and to promote among young leaders issues of Islamic approach to the quest of leadership, skills for interpersonal communication, teamwork, moral and ethic aspects of leadership, civil responsibility and global and cultural awareness. The program will be held with the support of Islamic Development Bank and of Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The training courses will be also held within the framework of the conference in Zaghulba “Ganclik” Tourism Centre.
Moreover 2 international and local experts with significant experience in development of leadership skills for Muslim youth will participate as lecturers and supervisors contributing to the overall success of the program. The participants will be given certificates for the completion of the courses at the end of the training. The program is being held in accordance with the resolution in development of youth movement adopted by the 33rd session of the Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers held in Baku in June, 2006.
“Karabakh: facts and consequences” book for the first time published in Arabian language with the initiative of Forum by series of “Conflicts and humanitarian tragedies in OIC countries” will be distributed among the participants.
