IFC AND SWISS GOVERNMENT LAUNCH PROJECT IN AZERBAIJAN
Baku, December 16 (AZERTAC). The International Financial Corporation (IFC) and the government of Switzerland launched a new project to strengthen the financial infrastructure in Azerbaijan.
The project is supported by Azerbaijan`s Central Bank.
Head of IFC Office in Baku Aliya Azimova said this project concurrently implements in Kirghizia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Mrs. Azimova underlined that the project worth 2.6 mln dollars will be implemented for three years. Of this, 2.4 mln was allotted by Switzerland`s State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), the remaining part by IFC.
Head of SECO Office in Baku Philip Keller said the project will positively influence on development of economy, including non-oil sector of Azerbaijan.
Head of Azerbaijan Microfinancing Association Mrs. Jala Hajiyeva and head of Azerbaijan`s Association of Risk Professionals Rufat Mahmud delivered speeches.
