INT`L CONFERENCE ON COMBAT AGAINST TERRORISM AND NARCOTICS OPENED IN TBILISI
On March 29, a two-day international conference devoted to combat against terrorism and narcotics opened in Tbilisi. The conference is organized by the National Security Council of Georgia at support of the European Commission.
Questions concerning security in the region of Black Sea by cooperation, coordination of national policy of the states in fighting terrorism and illegal circulation of drugs, and also estimations and mechanisms of prevention of risks will be discussed in the event.
Conference is supported by NATO, United Nations, Development Program of this structure, OSCE, European Union and George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies.
Azerbaijani Minister of Internal Affairs Ramil Usubov, Deputy Minister of National Security Hilal Asadov, chief of Central administrative board of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on combat against narcotics Azi Aslanov, chief of Central administrative board of public security Javanshir Mammadov and others represent Azerbaijan in the conference in which representatives and international experts of 15 countries participate.
Minister of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan Ramil Usubov talked on the International organized crime and the basic aspects of fighting the international terrorism. He in detail informed on the work done in this direction in Azerbaijan, cooperation of Azerbaijan with the international structures for effective results of struggle against the problems creating threat for the world community. Minister emphasized that Azerbaijan attaches a great value to the serious control over this problem, stressing that the Order of President Ilham Aliyev on establishment of the State commission for combat against narcotics and illegal circulation of drugs is evidence to that.
The Georgian President Michael Saakashvili took part in the conference.
