Iran plans to transport gas to Europe via TANAP
Tehran, August 19 (AZERTAC). “The Islamic Republic of Iran plans to export natural gas to Europe via Trans Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP),” Iranian minister of communication and information technologies Mahmoud Vaezi has said.
He noted that official Tehran was studying economic profitability of gas exports via the TANAP, which will cross Azerbaijan and Turkey.
Vaezi recalled his meeting with president of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev on the sidelines of the 9th Azerbaijan-Iran joint economic commission meeting in Baku, saying the sides stressed the importance of Azerbaijan-Iran cooperation towards meeting Europe`s demand for natural gas. Vaezi also noted that he discussed with Abdullayev the issue of the joint use of Azerbaijan`s underground gas reserves.
