Iranian Embassy in Baku marks Islamic Revolution anniversary
Baku, February 12 (AZERTAC). The Iranian Embassy in Azerbaijan has hosted a reception marking the 35th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
After the national anthems of the two countries were performed, Ambassador Mohsun Pakayin briefed the event participants on the development of Iran over the 35 years after the Islamic Revolution.
The Ambassador said Iran was one of the first countries to recognize Azerbaijan`s state independence.
He also noted the Azerbaijan-Iran relationship had been developing successfully in all fields.
Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov congratulated the Iranian people on the occasion of the holiday on behalf of Azerbaijan`s President Ilham Aliyev.
On successful relations between the two countries, the Transport Minister noted that reciprocal visits of presidents and documents signed contributed to developing relations between the two countries.
Mammadov also recalled the meeting between presidents Ilham Aliyev and Hassan Rouhani in Davos.
He expressed confidence that joint efforts would pave the way for development of the relations.
The event saw a presentation of a book of Ambassador Mohsun Pakayin on national leader Heydar Aliyev`s role in strengthening the Azerbaijan-Iran ties.
The event brought together Azerbaijan`s state and government officials, as well as MPs, ambassadors of foreign countries accredited in the country and public figures.
