Italian “İl Calendario del Popolo” magazine writes about Azerbaijan`s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic
Rome, June 8 (AZERTAC). Italian “İl Calendario del Popolo” magazine has published an article on Azerbaijan`s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
In the article, Laura Peretti, who attended the 3rd Baku International Humanitarian Forum, says Azerbaijan which is located in the South Caucasus, on the western coast of the Caspian Sea is a country with rich history and culture. Despite the country was in bondage for a long term, Azerbaijan has been independent in 1918-1920, and has achieved great successes, including the first democratic republic in the Muslim World and right of choice for women, which outstripped Italy for 30 years.
The author notes Azerbaijan`s capital city Baku combines antiquity and modernity. The city demonstrates Azerbaijan`s dynamic economic development with its skyscrapers and modern buildings. The author notes Azerbaijan has become a venue for grandiose events, including the Eurovision Song Contest in 2012 and the 2015 European Games.
Speaking on the 3rd Baku International Humanitarian Forum, the author stresses the event brought together representatives from a number of countries, as well as Nobel Prize winners, famous scientists, political figures and journalists. The official opening of the Forum was held at the Heydar Aliyev centre, which was constructed under the project of world-known architect Zaha Hadid and is one of the symbols of modern Baku.
Author Peretti, who has visited Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic within the Forum, says this part of Azerbaijan is an ancient territory where first people began to live in. She underlines Nakhchivan is one of the ancient cultural centers in the world.
In article which covers full information about the situation, people, climate and nature of Nakhchivan, the author says there are more than 200 mineral water springs in Ordubad, Julfa, Shahbuz, Babek and Sherur regions.
The author underlines Nakhchivan is an important region of Azerbaijan for its achievements in the historic heritage, scientific, cultural, political and military fields. Azerbaijan`s national leader, prominent political and state figure Heydar Aliyev was born in Nakhchivan.
Nakhchivan is a native land of famous architect of the 12th century Ajami, eminent artist Bahruz Kangarli, Azerbaijani dramatists Jalil Mammadguluzade and Huseyn Javid, famous chemical scientist, academician Yusif Mammadaliyev and others.
The author says Duzdag, which is located in Nakhchivan is a treatment centre which has no analogous in the world. People who suffer with respiratory diseases are coming here from various countries.
The author underlines today under the leadership of chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov the region has rapid economic and social development, as well as its international relations has been expanded, living standards of the people has been increased. There is modern International Airport in Nakhchivan city. The author has also touched upon efforts towards environmental protection in Nakhchivan.
Laura Peretti underlines the last researches showed wind and solar energy could be used in Nakhchivan. The realization of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project will allow direct travel from Baku to Nakhchivan.
