Italian “Specchio economico” magazine issues interview with Azerbaijani Ambassador
Rome, January 9 (AZERTAC). Italy’s “Specchio economico” magazine has published an interview with Azerbaijani Ambassador to Italy Vagif Sadigov.
The Ambassador praised the active cooperation between the two countries on all fronts, especially in economic field. He also spoke of the Azerbaijan-Italy bilateral relations.
He noted that the interests of the Italian companies working in Azerbaijan in the fields of construction, agriculture, ICT, environment, tourism, and number industrial sectors were going to increase.
The Ambassador also gave information on the Azerbaijan-Italy business forum held in the country on November 13 last year. He praised the importance of the forum that brought together over 130 businessmen from Italy in terms of establishment of the ties between the countries’ companies.
Ambassador Vagif Sadigov also spoke of the development of the tourism sector in the country, saying the necessary infrastructure was created and a number of measures were taken to reanimate the sector.
He also gave information about the ongoing preparatory work for the “Baku-2015” European Games and noted the close participation of the Italian companies in construction of the new sports grounds in the Azerbaijani capital.
The Ambassador also highlighted the importance of the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) which would deliver Azerbaijan’s gas to Europe.
He also praised the government’s attention to youth in Azerbaijan.
The Ambassador spoke of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, saying about 20 percent of Azerbaijani lands were occupied and over 1 million people became refugees in the country as a result of the dispute.
Vagif Sadigov also gave information on the measures taken to better social conditions for the IDPs in Azerbaijan.
