Italy hosts presentation on Azerbaijan
Baku, October 26 (AZERTAC). A presentation on Azerbaijan has been held at the Italian Centre of Armed Forces for Higher Defence Studies.
Azerbaijan`s ambassador to Italy Vagif Sadigov provided an insight into the country`s history, as well as its foreign policy directions, relations between the two countries.
On the ongoing political and economical processes in Azerbaijan Mr. Sadigov highlighted the country`s achievements in the relevant sphere.
On Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the ambassador also highlighted the ethnic cleansing policy carried out by Armenia over the last 20 years.
He noted as a result of Armenia’s military aggression, Azerbaijan has lost 20 percent of its territories, including the Nagorno-Karabakh and seven surrounding regions, and more than one million Azerbaijanis became refugees and IDPs.
He also provided information about the UN Security Council`s four resolutions demanding an unconditional and immediate withdrawal of the Armenian armed forces from Azerbaijan`s occupied lands and other issues.
Military attaché of the Embassy colonel Anvar Ibrahimov highlighted the history of Azerbaijan`s Armed Forces, as well as the country`s achievements in the military sphere over the independence years.
Anvar Ibrahimov spoke about the current state of military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy.
