Jordan`s Al-Rai newspaper interviews Azerbaijani ambassador
Amman, January 21 (AZERTAC). Jordan`s Al-Rai newspaper has published an interview titled “Azerbaijani ambassador welcomes Jordan`s support on Arab and Islamic issues” with Azerbaijani ambassador Sabir Aghabayov.
The article says the Ambassador welcomed the efforts of King Abdullah II of Jordan in establishing peace and security in the region. “Support for the Arab and Islamic issues, reforms carried out in the Kingdom, the country`s election as a member of the UN Security Council are the indicators of the country`s influence in the international arena,” said the Ambassador.
The diplomat underlined the importance of friendship between the heads of state and peoples of the two countries. According to him, Jordan`s backing the positions of the Republic of Azerbaijan and friendly relations between the heads of the two countries contribute to the development of bilateral relations. He pointed out that Azerbaijan is interested in cultivating relationship with the Arabic and Islamic nations, in particular Jordan. The Ambassador noted that Azerbaijan managed to establish the democratic system based on the political pluralism and the economy based on the free market. “Notwithstanding difficulties of recent years, the Azerbaijani leadership`s forward-looking policy helped build the institutions based on the modern state and civil society.”
Aghabayov also highlighted the significance of the international community’s backing the fair position of Azerbaijan, liberation of the occupied lands, returning of IDPs and refugees to their homes and Azerbaijan`s reclaiming control over the Nagorno-Karabakh region.
Aghabayov noted that thanks to the efforts of the people and government of Azerbaijan as well as the Arabic and Islamic countries the international community becomes confident that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict must be solved by peaceful means and on the basis of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
