Kairat Sarybay: Azerbaijan will successfully chair the CICA

“Thanks to Azerbaijan’s chairmanship, the CICA will embark on a sustained development trajectory to guarantee collaboration and security in Asia,” said CICA Secretary General Kairat Sarybay in an interview with journalists following the 8th Plenary Session of the Business Council of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) held in Baku.
He emphasized that enhancing international relations among small and medium-sized business representatives from CICA member countries is a key focus of the Business Council’s activities.
Sarybay highlighted that the Council serves as a vital platform for advancing cooperation among SMEs across member states, noting: “The Business Council brings together representatives of governments and business associations. Therefore, it is extremely important to have such a platform covering 90 percent of Asia, 28 member states—from the Pacific Ocean to the Mediterranean, from the Arctic Ocean to the Indian Ocean.”
He also underlined that Azerbaijan's capacity to successfully chair the CICA is evidenced by the excellent organization of the events hosted in the country.
