KAZAKHSTAN TO BUILD NUCLEAR POWER PLANT BY BALKHASH
Director General of the National Nuclear Center of Kazakhstan Shamil Tukhvatulin informed at the press conference that at the end of this or at the beginning of the next year the Government of the country can start the construction of the nuclear power plant on the shore of the Balkhash lake in Karaganda region. He noted that though the issue of construction of the nuclear power plant is grounded economically and technically, the final decision has not been made yet. Besides, the Kazakhstan Government has not defined yet what type of reactor will be selected for this nuclear power plant.
