Kazakhstan to purchase 14 new aircraft by yearend

During the Government’s meeting, Kazakh Vice Minister of Transport Talgat Lastayev noted that Kazakhstan’s air fleet currently consists of 104 aircraft, according to Kazinform News Agency .
Lastayev pointed out that six airlines (Air Astana, FlyArystan, SCAT, Qazaq Air, Southern Sky, and Zhetysu) provide domestic air travel in Kazakhstan, serving 56 routes.
"The number of routes increased by 10% last year, reflecting a rise in domestic transport accessibility. Flight frequency stands at 75%, with the EU at 74% and the U.S. at 77%, which corresponds to global standards," said the vice minister.
He mentioned that a key factor in improving air travel quality and reducing delays is the continuous renewal and expansion of the fleet. Kazakhstani airlines purchase from 10 up to 15 new modern aircraft annually.
"The current fleet consists of 104 aircraft. Since the beginning of the year, airlines have already added two modern aircraft models, the Airbus A320 NEO. By the end of the year, the fleet is expected to expand with 14 more aircraft, increasing the capacity by 15%," Lastayev stated.
