Latvian ambassador highlights strong potential for agricultural cooperation with Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov met with Edgars Skuja, Ambassador of Latvia to Azerbaijan.
Majnun Mammadov highlighted state support for the agricultural sector, noting that agrarian reforms implemented in the country are aimed at further developing agriculture.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation and the legal framework in the agricultural sector, hosting the 9th meeting of the Azerbaijan–Latvia Intergovernmental Commission in the near future, establishing a joint working group on agriculture, exchanging information on products with high export potential, increasing trade turnover in agricultural and food products, expanding ties between business communities, and ensuring the participation of Latvian entrepreneurs in the Azerbaijan International Agricultural Exhibition.
Ambassador Edgars Skuja emphasized that Latvia is a friendly country to Azerbaijan and expressed interest in developing partnership across all areas, noting the significant potential for enhancing cooperation in agriculture.
The sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening agricultural cooperation and also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
