M. KAMININ: “RUSSIAN-AZERBAIJANI DIALOGUE SUCCESSFUL”
M. Kaminin also stated that position of Russia remains unchanged: “Russia is ready to support that variant of the solution of the problem which will suit the parties involved in the conflict, and in case of achievement of the compromise arrangement - to act as the guarantor of settlement”, he has told.
Speaking about most pressing questions in the agenda of bilateral contacts, Kaminin has informed, that the “we are having exchange of views on the course of performance of terms of the joint statement of presidents of two countries dated February 22, 2006, which has fixed mutual intention to reach a new qualitative level in the interstate relations”. At his words, also are being discussed concrete ways of deepening political relations, expansion of interactions in the trade-economic sphere.
Touching upon the trade and economic relations, M. Kaminin has noted, that this sphere is the major component of the Russian-Azerbaijan relations. As he said, fast rates have acquired the foreign trade turnover between two countries, for nine months its volume has increased more than for 50 % in comparison with the same period of 2005, and by the end of year will reach, by estimations of experts, 1,5 billion dollars.
Russia and Azerbaijan actively cooperate in the fuel and energy complex, including realization of transit of the Azerbaijan oil on the Russian territory, deliveries from Russia natural gas to Azerbaijan. Baku has declared readiness to become co-organizer of the Russian stock exchange of oil and oil products. We work out joint projects in the field of electric power industry, transport, non-ferrous metallurgy, mechanical engineering that should change qualitatively structure of mutual commodity circulation”, he noted.
“Significant place is given to the humanitarian block, development of cultural ties, situation of the compatriots, he said. “Also we are having exchange of views on situation on the Caucasus, ways of maintenance of regional safety, burning international problems, as well as the problem of the Caspian region, and also safety on the Caspian”, has noted M. Kaminin.
