MINISTER OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT MEETS “COMMERZBANK” DELEGATION
Speaking at the meeting, Minister Babayev noted that a favorable environment for the development of business in Azerbaijan is being developing and volume of investments allocated to the economy of Azerbaijan is being increased.
Today, the German businessmen are also successfully acting in numerous fields of Azerbaijan’s economy, including banking, infrastructure and others.
Besides, there are real opportunities for the development of cooperation. So, opening of Baku office of Commerzbank will be of importance for further expansion of cooperation.
Martin Blessing, in his turn, noted that he is attentively watching economic development and reforms being carried out in Azerbaijan and interested with the work being done in the field of creation of the special economic zones in Azerbaijan.
Saying about it, Mr. Babayev noted that today, work on creation of the special economic zones in Azerbaijan is being successfully continued. Under the State Investment Program, number of projects is being implemented in the fields of infrastructure, construction and energy in Azerbaijan with participation of the foreign investors.
Accordingly, the German companies can increase allocation of investment to numerous fields of the non-oil sector by expansion of cooperation with the Azerbaijan State Investment Company and Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation.
“Commerzbank”s vice presidents Christof Maetze, Per Fischer, Axel Bommersheim and bank’s Baku office head Marko Graff were also present at the meeting.
