Moroccan parliamentary delegation visits Milli Majlis
Baku, February 22 (AZERTAC). A parliamentary delegation of Morocco led by Ali Kabiri, chairman of the parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs, National Defence, Islamic Affairs and Moroccans Residing Abroad, has visited the Milli Majlis, the Parliament of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, chairperson of the Milli Majlis Human Rights Committee and member of the Azerbaijan-Morocco inter-parliamentary friendship group Rabiyat Aslanova praised bilateral relations between the two countries. She stressed that Morocco was one of the first countries to recognize Azerbaijan’s independence. Aslanova noted the importance of mutual visits between the officials of the two states.
She said Azerbaijan and Morocco support each other in the international organizations, adding ‘this is the signal of mutual respect’.
The Committee head informed the Moroccan delegation about Azerbaijan’s accomplishments, in particular in human rights field in recent years.
Kabiri said reciprocal visits of the parliamentarians from the two countries positively affect friendship between Azerbaijan and Morocco.
The head of the delegation noted Moroccan people are delighted with Azerbaijan’s rapid progress. He said it is noteworthy that Azerbaijan has kept its national values although the country had lived in the communist regime for more than 70 years. Kabiri expressed his confidence for the future progress of the relations between the two countries.
The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in a number of areas as well as inter-parliamentary relations.
