Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Netherlands discuss development of relations
Nakhchivan, November 25 (AZERTAC). Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov has today met Ambassador of the Netherlands to Azerbaijan Robert Jan Gabrielsen.
According to the press service of the Supreme Assembly, Mr Talibov congratulated the Dutch diplomat on his new appointment.
Touching upon the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Talibov said as a result of the conflict the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic had been under the blockade more than 20 years.
He hailed development of the Azerbaijan-Netherlands relations, noting annual trade turnover between the two countries reached $300 million.
The Chairman of the Supreme Assembly also hailed development of relations between the Netherlands and the Autonomous Republic, noting the existing cooperation in the fields of agriculture and pharmacology.
Talibov said there was good potential for establishment of educational relations, stressing the importance of expansion of the bilateral ties.
Robert Jan Gabrielsen hailed the socio-economic development of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
The ambassador noted the significance of fruitful cooperation with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in terms of development of the Azerbaijan-Netherlands relationship.
The ambassador said he would try his best to contribute to boosting the bilateral ties.
