NATIONAL HOLIDAY OF KAZAKHSTAN MARKED IN BAKU
After the state anthems were performed, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Baku Andar Shukputov spoke of the history of his country’s struggle for independence begun 20 years ago, in 1986. He, in particular, reminded the December 1986 events in Almaty. “Now, Kazakhstan has entered a new period of quick development and is among world’s 50 more competitive countries”, the Ambassador stressed.
“The relations of friendship and fraternity, the bases of which were founded by nationwide leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev and president of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, today successfully is continued by President Ilham Aliyev”, the Ambassador emphasized. The bilateral relations develop year by year. The Agreement on transportation of Kazakh oil through Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline signed in June current year in Almaty is evidence to that, he added.
First vice-speaker of Azerbaijan Parliament Ziyafet Askerov conveyed the greetings of President Ilham Aliyev, his wishes of peace and tranquility to the Kazakh people. He noted that the two nations had always-warm relations, which, after gaining independence, develop more intensively.
Members of Azerbaijan Parliament, ambassadors of foreign countries accredited in Baku, representatives of public and mass media attended the reception.
