National libraries of Azerbaijan and Albania strengthen ties

On January 28, Ambassador of Albania to Azerbaijan Besart Kadia visited the National Library of Azerbaijan.
Professor Karim Tahirov, director of the library, briefed the ambassador on the institution’s activities and ongoing projects. He highlighted the signing of a memorandum on mutual cooperation between the National Library of Azerbaijan and the National Library of Albania, the organization of bilateral events, and international book exchanges.
The director also emphasized the opening of a section of Azerbaijani literature at the National Library of Albania in 2025 and noted that a similar section was established at the National Library of Azerbaijan two years ago.
The Albanian ambassador expressed his readiness to support the expansion of cooperation between the libraries and the development of international book exchanges. He highlighted the importance of presenting books by Albanian writers and poets published in Turkish and Azerbaijani languages.
Discussions also focused on mutual experience sharing, preservation and conservation, digitization, and the scientific circulation of books and manuscripts available in libraries.
Later, the ambassador toured the National Library and was presented with a book about Azerbaijan.
