New Azerbaijan Party, Chinese Communist Party sign MoU on cooperation

Azerbaijani delegation led by Tahir Budagov, the Deputy Chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) visited China at the invitation of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
The Azerbaijani delegation met with Liu Jianchao, the head of the International Department of the CCP Central Committee.
During the meeting, Liu Jianchao hailed the China-Azerbaijan relations. He noted that the relations between the two countries, based on mutual respect and the mutual support of territorial integrity and sovereignty, are multifaceted and encompass political, economic, cultural, humanitarian, transport-logistics, and other domains. Liu Jianchao expressed his country`s eagerness to enhance mutually beneficial cooperation.
He also acknowledged Azerbaijan's significant role in combating global climate change and congratulated the nation on hosting COP29, noting China's strong representation at the event.
Tahir Budagov noted that in accordance with the decree of the President Ilham Aliyev, 2024 was declared as "Green World Solidarity Year " in the country. He underlined that currently Azerbaijan successfully hosts COP29. He emphasized that hosting this event in Azerbaijan is another evidence of the international trust shown to the country, and expressed gratitude for China's support in this matter.
Highlighting the role of the cooperation of the two countries` ruling parties in the development of relations between Azerbaijan and China, Tahir Budagov stated that one of the main issues of the Joint Declaration on establishment of the strategic partnership between the two countries is fostering relations between the two parties.
Tahir Budagov and Liu Jianchao then signed a memorandum of cooperation between YAP and CCP.
