‘NEWS AGENCIES` COOPERATION WILL CONTRIBUTE TO DEVELOPING RELATIONS AMONG TURKIC SPEAKING COUNTRIES’
Director General of Azerbaijan`s state news agency, AZERTAC, Aslan Aslanov said news agencies` cooperation will contribute to further development of relations among Turkic speaking countries.
Speaking to the 7th meeting of the General Assembly of the Association of news agencies of Turkic speaking countries (TKA) commemorating the 85th anniversary of the nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev in Baku, Mr Aslanov stressed the level of the news agencies` cooperation is not satisfactory in comparison with the developing political, economic and humanitarian relations among the Turkic speaking countries.
“We must increase efforts towards filling this gap as the enhancement of our agencies` cooperation will lead to developing relations between our friendly and fraternal countries and bringing our people closer to each other”, said AZERTAC`s Director General.
Aslan Aslanov touched upon the Azerbaijan government`s efforts towards ensuring the protection of freedoms of speech and press.
He praised the nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev`s role in providing financial and technical assistance to AZERTAC.
Mr Aslanov also informed the meeting participants of AZERTAC`s activity, saying the agency is a member of a number of respected unions of news agencies.
