NINTH AZERBAIJANI HEALTH EXHIBITION OPENS

On September 16, a press-conference dedicated to opening of the 9th Baku International Health Exhibition BIHE – 2003 to be held on September 17-19 in the Sport Complex on Tbilisi avenue, took place in the Grand Hotel Europe, Baku. Director of the company-organizer “ITECA Caspian Ltd” Farid Mammadov noted that 82 companies from 20 countries might partake in the exhibition. According to F. Mammadov, exposition area of the exhibition increased by about 50 percent and number of participants – by 25 percent in comparison with previous years.

“This year there are active increase in number of local companies, which evidences on development of the medical sector of the country, enhancement of demand for domestic production from local and foreign consumers. I am glad to state that 35 percent of companies-participants are local organizations”, - said F. Mammadov and noted that exhibition is organized by support of the Health Ministry and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Azerbaijan.

Having emphasized the role of exhibitions in the health development in Azerbaijan, vice-president of the Commerce and Industry Chamber of Azerbaijan Mehman Ahmadov pinpointed to increase in number of foreign companies who opened their offices in Baku. “BIHE 2003 is the valuable contribution to the development of sectors of economy, not associated with the oil-gas industry”, M. Ahmadov added.

At the press conference, it was announced to conduct a two-days scientific-practical conference on cardiology within the frames of the exhibition, which is to be attended by 200 specialists from Azerbaijan, Russia, Turkey and Germany.

“The purpose of the conference is demonstration of new treatment methods of cardiovascular system diseases, presentation of new medications and upgrade of diagnostics methods”, - exhibition manager Ruhsara Mammadsalakhova said to AzerTAj correspondent.

The official opening ceremony will be attended by Health Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Insanov, president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Suleyman Tatliyev and director of “IТЕСА Caspian Ltd” Farid Mammadov.
