Novruz holiday celebrated in Danish city of Taastrup

An event marking Novruz, one of the oldest holidays in the Turkic world, was held in the city of Taastrup, Denmark, co-organized by the Denmark-Azerbaijan House and the Denmark-Azerbaijan “Vatan” Society.
The event began with the playing of National Anthem of Azerbaijan, followed by a minute of silence to honor memory of the martyrs.
Addressing the event, Mehriban Aliyeva, Chairperson of the Denmark-Azerbaijan “Vatan” Society, which has been operating since 2007, highlighted the importance of unity, cohesion and solidarity.
The event was attended by guests from Denmark and Türkiye. Ozan Karakuş, Chairman of the Scandinavian Turkish Federation, and other representatives of the Turkish diaspora were also among the guests.
Participants of different age groups gathered to welcome the arrival of spring and the awakening of nature during the festive event held in an atmosphere on friendship, sincere dialogue, and the collective honoring of shared cultural heritage.
Actor and musician Tarlan Shahbazi from Poland, as well as DJ Djavid, invited from Sweden, took the stage at the evening.
The festive atmosphere, accompanied by traditional melodies and the egg tapping contest typical of Novruz, provided a joyful platform for participants to both enjoy the festivities and further strengthen their cultural ties.
