Azerbaijanis living in Ukraine celebrated their traditional Novruz holiday through the “Novruz” Multicultural Art Festival.
The festive event was organized by the Muslum Magomayev Azerbaijani Cultural Center with the joint support of the Kyiv City State Administration and the United Diaspora of Ukrainian Azerbaijanis.
Highlighting Azerbaijan’s rich cultural heritage through traditional music, dance, and national costumes, the festival featured performances by diverse international groups, underscoring the vital role of multiculturalism and the rapprochement of different cultures.
Addressing the event, People's Artist of Ukraine Gurban Abbasov and Ukrainian singer Natalya Kudyashova highlighted the history and significance of the Novruz holiday.
The speakers underscored the role of Novruz in uniting diverse cultures, noting that such gatherings strengthen the bonds of friendship between Azerbaijan and Ukraine while fostering deeper cooperation and mutual respect among all peoples.
Bringing together representatives from 17 nationalities and ethnic groups across Ukraine, the festival became a vibrant tapestry of global heritage as Azerbaijanis, Kazakhs, Georgians, Tajiks, Germans, Uzbeks, Hawaiians, and various other peoples showcased their national songs, dances, and fine arts.
The cultural exchange was also bolstered by Ukraine’s premier creative ensembles in theater, choreography, and circus arts, culminating in an immersive exhibition of Azerbaijan’s national costumes and cultural attributes.
