Nowruz concert held in London
London, March 8 (AZERTAC). London-based Kings Place has hosted “Sounds of Spring” concert dedicated to Nowruz holiday.
It was organized in partnership with Azerbaijan`s Culture and Tourism Ministry and the country`s Embassy in London.
Speaking to the opening ceremony, representative of Azerbaijan House Farida Panahova highlighted achievements of the Azerbaijani music.
Ambassador Fakhraddin Gurbanov said the music of Azerbaijan had deep historical roots, adding the country was home to first opera in the East.
The concert featured performance of soloist of Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre Fidan Hajiyeva and young pianist Zulfiyya Sadigova. They performed works by world famous composers, including Uzeyir Hajibeyli, Gara Garayev, Muslim Magomayev, Debussy, Chopin, and Thomas Arne.
